Looking for an alternative to your debit card, credit card or PayPal to pay for your ad? There’s an easy way to pay for your new ad on DoneDeal, using your landline or mobile phone*.
To pay for your ad using your phone, follow these instructions:
- When you place an ad and choose to pay by phone you are given a phone number and an activation code.
- Call the phone number and enter the activation code. The call costs €3* and is charged to your phone bill.
- Your ad is published on DoneDeal shortly after your call.
Is it safe?
Absolutely! The phone service we use is regulated by ComReg. There are no recurring charges or hidden fees.
What phone number is used?
We use a premium rate 1518 number which is charged per call rather than per minute. This means that the cost of the call is the same no matter how long the call lasts (by the way it normally only lasts less than 20 seconds).
Where can I call from?
You can call from any phone in the Republic of Ireland (including mobiles*). The fee will be charged to the phone you make the call from – so make sure you have the bill payer’s permission!
What if I can’t get through?
Some phone accounts are blocked from calling premium rate numbers. If you can’t get through to our 1518 number, here are some things you can try:
- Use another phone e.g. your home landline or mobile phone*.
- Contact your phone service provider to check if your phone is blocked from calling premium rate numbers. Take a look at the list of phone company customer care numbers we’ve compiled for you.
