But before you hand over your cash and jump into the driving seat, here are a few things to put on your checklist:
- Check the car history using great Irish online services such as MyWheels, Motorcheck or Cartell.
- Check with the Hire Purchase Register (Ph: 01 2600905) that the car is not under a Hire Purchase agreement.
- Find out if the vehicle has passed the NCT and when is it due for its next NCT.
- Get a mechanic you trust to give the vehicle a once over before handing over any money.
- Make sure the seller registers the change of ownership.
